Since Sunday, twenty thousand two hundred ten new Corona infections have been recorded in Austria. Twenty-two people died within 24 hours in connection with Covid-19.
The increase in new infections was below the previous seven-day average of 26,458, and the number was also lower than the previous Monday when 21,436 new cases had been reported. As of Monday, there were thus 269,463 active cases, down 4,795 from the last day. A week ago, there were 281,479 active cases.
2,435 hospital patients and 22 Corona deaths on Monday
Since the pandemic, there have been 2,679,742 confirmed cases in Austria. Since then, 2,395,470 people have recovered, and within the past 24 hours, 24,983 were considered recovered. The 22 additional deaths since Sunday brought the total number of people who have died with or from Corona infection to date to 14,809. The seven-day average for the past week was 30.7 deaths per day, with a total of 215 deaths recorded during that period.
There were 2,435 people in the hospital with Corona infection on Monday, up by 67 from the day before. Over the past week, the number of hospital patients with Corona has increased by 125 cases, up from 169 points within a week on the previous Monday. 189 Covid patients were being cared for in intensive care units today, Monday. That number dropped by eight since Sunday and has remained the same in a week.
